VCA VRA also has an ongoing well-established internship program and residencies in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. Veterinary students doing externships at VCA Veterinary Referral are offered an unusually wide range of exciting learning opportunities. Vet Referral has a very talented staff consisting of 50 experienced technicians, a number of which are certified, an experienced and caring management staff and friendly receptionists and assistants that are truly customer oriented. You will appreciate the warm and inviting atmosphere within an historic dairy barn.

VCA Veterinary Referral Associates, one of the premier referral practices in the United States, is a 26-doctor group located in a suburb of Washington DC and has been established for 29 years. This referral practice has board-certified specialists in Neurology, Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Critical Care. We have residency trained doctors in Ophthalmology, Oncology and Radiology. Specialized capabilities include those listed above as well as on-site CT, linear accelator and MRI accessibility.
Our location, just north of Washington DC, is close to many cultural, educational, and recreational facilities. We are within a few hours of New York City, Philadelphia and Baltimore as well as some of the best beaches in the country.
